Huff's Union Church
As pastor of Huff's Union Church, I welcome you to our congre-gational family. Huff's Union Church is a welcoming and exciting place to be! In 2000, two separate congregations, Huff's Evangelical Lutheran Church and Huff's United Church of Christ, who had worshipped in the same building for many years, began living as one -- a shared ministry congregation. In 2001, I began ministry with this church family. Having grown up and studied for ministry as a Lutheran, and having worked for and been ordained in the United Church of Christ, I felt I had finally come home when I began to serve at Huff's. Here one finds the best of both traditions of the Reformation, with a willingness to look at the future and adapt to it.

Of course, as a Reformation heritage church, the Word of God as revealed in the Scriptures is very important to us. We value our worship, as the time we set aside each week to be changed by our encounter with God. Worship encompasses all our emotions, and all our senses. Worship is not a time to sit back, but requires us to get involved with God and with our neighbors. Worship informs and empowers us for life in the world.

Christian education for all ages is important to us. In addition to Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for all ages, we have Confirmation classes for those youth ready to confirm their baptismal vows. An adult study group meets to learn about specific topics, usually coming together for four week study modules in the late spring and in the fall.

Huff's Union Church wants to reach out in Christ's name. We actively participate in numerous area mission projects, and support an outreach project in Kentucky. Our youth group plans a mission trip once every two years to help those in need.

We want to welcome new people into Huff's and introduce them to and further their relationship with Jesus Christ. We seek to help people set priorities in their lives, and teach them the joy of giving from the wide range of talents God has given to us. We practice praying for one another through a prayer partner group, and for the needs of others through our prayer chain.

We encourage you to join us for worship, learning and fellowship.

In Christian Love,
