Ralph E. Moll
Ralph E. Moll, 87 of Seisholtzville, died Tuesday March 4, 2008 in his home. His wife, Margaret E. (Crum) Moll died June 23, 2007. Ralph and Margie had celebrated 65 years of marriage on May 7, 2007. They were married in Idaho when Ralph was stationed in Spokane, WA. Ralph founded Moll's Garage in Seisholtzville in 1946 to 1971. His son John continued the business until 1985. Ralph was the last surviving founder of the Seisholtzville Fire Company, which was founded in 1948. He was assistant fire chief and later became fire chief. Born in the village of Huff's Church on April 2, 1920 he was the son of John L. and Gertie B. (Benfield) Moll. Ralph taught adult Sunday School at Huff's Union Church at the age of 17. He joined the Army/Air Force after his mother died. He was a WWII veteran serving from 1941 to 1945 and earned the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was a P-38 air plane mechanic. He was in the 9th Reconnaissance Squad and traveled throughout the United States. He served overseas in Africa, India and China, spending 2 years in India. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion.
Survivors: Daughters Rhoda L. (Moll) Shaner, Barto; Pamela A. Moll, Alburtis; Son John R. Moll, Alburtis; Grandson Alexander L. Schoenly with whom he resided and three other grandchildren Cynthia A. (Shaner) Pruiksma; Sheri L. (Shaner) DeMarco and Michael D. Shaner; Great Grandchildren Nicole S. Kromer and Joseph L. DeMarco. He was predeceased in death by a brother Owen and four sisters Naomi (Moll) Bitting, Alberta (Moll) Benfield, Beulah (Moll) Crossley and a baby sister Sarah.
Services: Memorial, Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. in Huff's Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Jane Kropa officiating. Friends may call Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the church. Inurnment with Military Honors in Huff's Church Union Cemetery.
